Build a Website Now

"Learn How to Build a Website Now, Places to Submit Your Site, and Other Important Tips for Online Success"

You probably want to build a website now.

So many people with an entrepreneurial mindset are creating sites each day.

Some are insanely successful making tens of thousands of dollars each month or more.

Others tend to sit...and sit...and sit -- forgotten by their creators, making little to no money online.

So, what's the big difference between building a successful website and one that dies slowly?

At SBI, they call it BAM - Brains and Motivation.

If you're looking for a "Get Rich Quick" scheme, you're not going to find it here.

The successes that I've enjoyed and those of my friends and colleagues have come with a little bit of elbow grease and some dedicated research time.

5 Steps to Making a Website That Works...

To help you along the way, I've compiled my Top 5 tips for Optimal Website Development and Design.

Everything is easier with a list, so be sure to go step by step.

1) Write It All Down...I Mean Everything

A good friend of mine begins every project with bullet lists.

He grabs a sheet of lined paper and writes a bullet for every idea that comes to mind.

He usually ends up with lists of over 100 major points.

Then, he'll backtrack to narrow the list by getting rid of junk ideas and those that he's not 100% passionate about.

That's Step #1 on how to build a website now. Grab a sheet of paper and give it a go.

2) Know Your Competition...Can You Be Profitable?

Once the list is narrowed and the best ideas are at the top, you'll want to research the competition in your niche.

Are people looking for the information you want to provide?

Are there tons of other websites that offer similar information?

Do they already have a tight grasp on the market?

One way you can find out is by doing a Google search for some of the major terms and phrases used in your niche or industry.

If you've got a local brick and mortar business, you'll also want to do the search with your city's name typed in. (i.e. - bed and breakfast in Boston, MA)

I use BrainstormIt! for all of my research and keyword optimization. If you haven't seen it, SBI's Action Guide goes into good detail.

3) Register Your Domain Name...Choose This Wisely

Is it easy to skip steps #1 and #2?

Do I recommend it?

Not at all.

Too many people jump right into step #3 and this is probably a major reason why most websites fail -- there's no blueprint.

It's just a shot in the dark.

I've written about how to start a blog and how it differs from a website before. Honestly, you could do either.

If you've done your research wisely, you may realize that people are much more likely to find your website for a url address that isn't the catchiest or most memorable.

It's part of the reason that some sites get so much organic (free from the search engines) traffic.

You can always reserve "the cooler name" and use it as a redirect to your site. TIP: If you are going to use SBI, be sure to register your domain through them. It will save a lot of headaches in having to transfer any domain names.

4) Create Your Content...Always Be Writing

People that arrive at your website are looking for information.

You'll want there to be plenty of it and you'll want to make sure it is in an easily accessible format.

The easier your information is to access, the more likely your visitor will be back for more.

In addition to your list-builders and opt-ins, this will be of extremely high importance.

Just like in Tip #1, you'll want to have a list of ideas that you are going to write about on your daily to-do list.

If you're ever at a loss for ideas, grab some newspapers or even some magazines related to your website topic. Reading their headlines should get your creative juices going.

5) Submit Your Site...Directories, Social Bookmarks, and More

Having the organic (free) traffic is great and you'll always want to be in contact with your list, but you may also elect to invest in some traffic generation.

High impact link-building strategies should not be overlooked.

The greater the number of high-value directories and social bookmarks that reference your site, the more reputable your site will become.

This will allow for higher search engine rankings and increased website traffic.

Here's the service that I've been using for all of my social bookmarks:

BONUS: Build A Website Now

SiteBuildIt! is the service that I use to build all of my websites. Although they are widely popular, I still consider them my secret to website success.
